"I've spent my career serving people in combat, EMS, and healthcare, and now I use the outdoors to help people reconnect, learn, and reset."

About Thin Line Fly Co.

More Than a Day on the Water

Thin Line Fly Co. was founded on a simple belief:

Sometimes the best conversations happen away from the noise.

Away from the phones, the deadlines, the stress, and the demands of everyday life.

Out on the water, people slow down. They breathe. They reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the outdoors.

That's why Thin Line Fly Co. exists.

Meet Tyler

William "Tyler" Yearwood, MS, RN, PMH-BC
Founder & Professional Fly Fishing Guide | Thin Line Fly Co.

Before becoming a professional fly fishing guide, I served as an Army Combat Medic with the 10th Mountain Division, worked as an Advanced EMT, and later became a Registered Nurse. My career has taken me from military service to emergency medicine, nursing, and behavioral health. Those experiences shaped the way I work with people and ultimately influenced why I started Thin Line Fly Co.

Throughout my career, I've worked with people from all walks of life, often during some of their most difficult moments. I learned the importance of patience, communication, and making people feel comfortable, especially when they're trying something unfamiliar. Those same principles are a big part of how I approach guiding.

As a professional fly fishing guide, my goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and personalized experience on the water. Whether you're picking up a fly rod for the first time, chasing trophy trout, or spending a day fishing with friends, family, or clients, I want you to feel welcome and confident. I enjoy teaching just as much as I enjoy fishing, and I take pride in helping people develop their skills, understand the water, and have a good time along the way.

Thin Line Fly Co. offers guided fishing experiences across North Georgia, including the Etowah River, Soque River, Chattahoochee River, and Lake Lanier. Every trip is built around the people I'm guiding, their experience level, and what they hope to get out of their day.

Beyond Guiding

My background in military service, healthcare, and psychiatric-mental health nursing also drives another important part of Thin Line Fly Co.'s mission: creating opportunities for veterans, first responders, and healthcare professionals to step away from the demands of their work.

Through our Reset Day programs, I want to bring together outdoor recreation, practical wellness education, skill development, and peer connection. These experiences are designed to give people an opportunity to slow down, learn something new, connect with others, and enjoy time outdoors.

Fly fishing has given me a great deal over the years. It's taught me patience, helped me appreciate the present moment, and reminded me that sometimes a few hours on the water can make a difficult week feel a little lighter.

Today, my goal is to bring that same opportunity to others while providing a professional, dependable guide service that people can trust.

Whether you're joining me for a guided fishing trip or participating in a Reset Day, I want you to leave with more than you came for, whether that's a new skill, a great memory, a fish worth talking about, or simply a good day on the water.

Tight Lines. Steady Minds.

Our Mission

At Thin Line Fly Co., our mission is to provide exceptional fly fishing experiences while using the outdoors to bring people together, build connections, and support personal well-being.

We are especially committed to serving veterans, first responders, and healthcare professionals who spend their careers caring for and protecting others. Through professional guided fishing trips, outdoor education, and our Reset Day programs, we create opportunities for people to step away from everyday demands, learn new skills, and enjoy meaningful time on the water.

Whether we're introducing someone to fly fishing for the first time or hosting a group of first responders, our focus remains the same: providing a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience.

Our Vision

Our vision is to grow Thin Line Fly Co. into more than a professional fly fishing guide service. We want to become a trusted partner in outdoor wellness, education, and resilience programming for first responders and veterans throughout North Georgia and beyond.

Through the First Responder Reset Project, we are developing structured Reset Day experiences that combine fly fishing, practical wellness education, peer connection, and time outdoors.

Our long-term goal is to build partnerships with public safety agencies, healthcare organizations, community groups, and sponsors to make these experiences accessible to those who serve, regardless of their ability to pay.

We believe the people who spend their lives showing up for others deserve opportunities to take care of themselves, too.

Looking Ahead

Guided fishing will always be an important part of Thin Line Fly Co. It allows us to share our passion for the outdoors, introduce people to North Georgia's fisheries, and build the relationships that make this business possible.

As we grow, we hope to expand our Reset Day programs, develop lasting partnerships, and provide more sponsored experiences for first responders and veterans.

Whether you're booking a fishing trip, interested in bringing a Reset Day to your department, or looking for a way to support our mission, we're glad you're here.
