General Questions
Do I need any fly fishing experience?
No. Most of our clients are beginners. We provide instruction throughout the trip, including casting, fly selection, reading water, fish handling, and basic techniques.
Do you provide all the equipment?
Yes. We can provide quality fly rods, reels, flies, leaders, tippet, and other necessary gear.
If you have your own equipment, you're welcome to bring it.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:

Do I need a Georgia fishing license?
Yes.
Anglers 16 years and older must possess a valid Georgia fishing license.
Many trout waters also require a Georgia Trout License.
Can beginners catch fish?
Absolutely.
Many first-time anglers catch trout on their very first trip. Our goal is to teach you skills you can continue using long after your guided trip ends.
Can children participate?
Yes.
We welcome families and youth anglers. Trips are customized to each group's experience level.

Not usually.
Most trips involve moderate walking and standing in moving water. We can recommend the best trip based on your physical abilities and comfort level.
Can we keep fish?
Harvest regulations vary by location.
Many waters are catch-and-release only, while others allow limited harvest during certain seasons.
We'll explain the regulations before fishing.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first.
If dangerous weather or unsafe river conditions occur, we'll gladly reschedule your trip.
What is your cancellation policy?

If weather causes cancellation, we'll work with you to reschedule.

Is fly fishing difficult to learn?
Like any skill, it takes practice—but most people are surprised by how quickly they improve with proper instruction.

What is the First Responder Reset Project?
The First Responder Reset Project provides sponsor-supported guided fly fishing trips for first responders.
The program encourages time outdoors, recreation, and connection with fellow responders. It is not therapy or medical treatment.
Can I sponsor a trip?
Absolutely.
Businesses, organizations, and individuals can sponsor guided trips that provide first responders an opportunity to spend a day on the water.

Safety
Are life jackets provided?
Yes.
Personal flotation devices are available and may be required depending on the trip.
Is fly fishing safe?
Fly fishing is generally very safe when proper precautions are followed.
Your guide will review safety procedures before every trip.
What if Buford Dam releases water?
For Chattahoochee River trips below Buford Dam, we continuously monitor generation schedules.
If conditions become unsafe, we'll move to safety or reschedule.
Booking
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking several weeks in advance, especially during spring and fall.
Can I book a private trip?
Yes.
All trips are private unless otherwise noted.
Can two people fish together?
Yes.
Many trips are designed for one or two anglers.
