The First Responder Reset Project

Help Us Serve Those Who Serve

Every day, first responders answer calls that most people never see.

They respond to tragedy, trauma, loss, and crisis while continuing to serve their communities with professionalism and compassion. Yet many carry the weight of those experiences long after the shift ends.

The First Responder Reset Project is an initiative being developed by Thin Line Fly Co. to provide sponsored outdoor wellness experiences for first responders throughout North Georgia.

Our goal is simple:

Give first responders a day to breathe.

A day on the water.

A day outdoors.

A day away from radios, calls, alarms, and stress.

Why This Matters

Research continues to show high rates of burnout, stress, anxiety, depression, and suicide among first responders.

While professional mental health resources remain essential, many first responders also benefit from time outdoors, meaningful peer connection, and opportunities to decompress in a non-clinical environment.

The First Responder Reset Project seeks to provide those opportunities through guided fishing experiences at no cost to participating first responders.

About the Founder

The project was created by Tyler Yearwood, a former Advanced EMT, Army Combat Medic, Registered Nurse, and owner of Thin Line Fly Co.

Having served in military and emergency medical settings, Tyler understands firsthand the challenges that many first responders face and believes outdoor recreation can play an important role in overall wellness and resilience.

Our Vision

Through partnerships with local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and community leaders, we hope to provide sponsored guided fishing trips for:

Firefighters

EMTs and Paramedics

Law Enforcement Officers

Dispatchers

Corrections Officers

Veterans serving in public safety roles

Our long-term goal is to create a sustainable program that serves first responders throughout North Georgia.Tight Lines. Steady Minds.

Together, we can create opportunities for first responders to step away from the demands of the job, reconnect with what matters, and return to service refreshed and encouraged.

How You Can Help

We are currently seeking community partners and sponsors who believe in supporting those who serve.

Potential sponsorship support may help provide:

  • Guided fishing trips

  • Equipment and gear

  • Meals and refreshments

  • Transportation assistance

  • Program growth and outreach

A sponsorship of $325 provides a fully guided outdoor experience for up to two first responders through either a half-day trout float trip or a Lake Lanier fishing trip.

Sponsors may choose to:

  • Sponsor a specific first responder

  • Sponsor a particular department, agency, or shift

  • Allow Thin Line Fly Co. to identify deserving participants through our community partnerships

Each sponsored trip includes professional guiding, instruction, and all necessary equipment if needed. More importantly, it provides an opportunity for first responders to step away from the demands of the job, spend time outdoors, connect with others, and recharge.

Whether you are a business, church, civic organization, or individual supporter, your sponsorship is a direct investment in the well-being of the men and women who serve our communities every day.

$325. One trip. Two first responders. A lasting impact.
