The First Responder Reset Project: Giving Back to Those Who Answer the Call

Every day, first responders answer someone else's call for help.

They respond to emergencies without knowing what they'll face. They work long hours, miss holidays with their families, and carry the weight of difficult experiences long after a shift ends. While the public often sees the heroism, few see the physical and emotional toll that comes with a career dedicated to serving others.

The First Responder Reset Project was created with one simple goal: to give something back.

A Day to Disconnect

The First Responder Reset Project provides sponsor-funded fly fishing experiences for active first responders throughout North Georgia. These trips are designed to offer something many first responders rarely receive—an opportunity to step away from the radio, the pager, and the constant demands of the job for a day outdoors.

There are no speeches, no meetings, and no expectations.

Just fresh air, flowing water, good conversation, and the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful day on the river.

Whether someone has never held a fly rod or has been fishing for years, every trip is tailored to create a welcoming, relaxed experience.

Why Fly Fishing?

Fly fishing naturally encourages patience, focus, and presence. Standing in a river requires you to slow down, pay attention to your surroundings, and enjoy the moment.

For many first responders, that alone can be a welcome change from the fast pace of everyday life.

The project is not intended to provide medical care, counseling, or therapy. Instead, it offers a chance to reconnect with nature, build camaraderie, and simply enjoy a meaningful day outside.

Powered by Community Sponsors

The First Responder Reset Project is made possible through the generosity of individuals, businesses, and community organizations that choose to sponsor Reset Trips.

Each sponsorship directly helps provide a guided fly fishing experience for active first responders, allowing local businesses and community members to show appreciation in a tangible way.

Together, we can remind those who serve our communities that their dedication has not gone unnoticed.

Our Mission

As a veteran-owned business founded by an Army combat medic, EMT, and registered nurse, Thin Line Fly Co. understands the importance of service, resilience, and community.

The First Responder Reset Project reflects those values by creating opportunities for first responders to spend meaningful time outdoors, strengthen connections with one another, and enjoy a day focused entirely on them.

How You Can Help

There are several ways to support the First Responder Reset Project:

  • Sponsor a Reset Trip for active first responders.

  • Recommend a deserving first responder or agency.

  • Share the project with your business, church, civic organization, or community group.

  • Help us spread the word so more first responders can experience a day on the water.

Every sponsored trip is an investment in the people who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Thank you for helping us honor those who answer the call—one cast, one conversation, and one Reset Trip at a time.
